We are very moved today at the news that Levi Mayhew’s family, in a time of great grieving, has had July 30th proclaimed Zellweger Spectrum Disorder Awareness Day in the state of Indiana. We shared Levi’s story with you last winter when he gave his Make-a-Wish trip to his friend Emma because he was too sick himself to go. Emma’s trip with Make-a-Wish on Levi’s behalf launched what became known as the Flat Levi project, as people downloaded a cut-out “Flat Levi” and shared pictures they took with him around the world.
We are heartbroken to share with our families and friends that Levi passed away this week, just before his 7th birthday.
All of our condolences are with Levi’s family, as well as our profound thanks for their willingness to share Levi with all of us.
