Reflections on 2019 | Looking ahead to 2020

As 2019 draws to a close, I’m filled with gratitude for our past and present and filled with a sense of hope for our future. Our families are supporting one another in ways that nine years ago, I would have never imagined. Our support groups are robust with empathy, innovative ideas, laughter and sorrow. Our families have built global relationships–supporting one another from afar, and it is truly amazing to witness. Likewise, our scientific community continues to grow. This group of amazing minds truly have compassion for our families in ways that defy understanding. Our Scientific Advisory Board continues to push the boundaries of what is possible with HOPE that one day, the quality of life will be improved for patients with peroxisomal disorders and their families.

Be a Hope Hero in 2020!

You’ve heard us talk a lot this year about the power of monthly donors. In 2019, we launched our “Hope Hero” campaign, the GFPD’s core group of monthly donors that recognize the value that consistent monthly donations bring to our organization.

Hope Heroes provide predictable monthly revenue which helps us avoid the peaks and valleys of fundraising, and allow us to plan for (and provide!) the support services that our families so desperately need.

Now, through the end of the year, any monthly donation of $5 or more (that’s one cup of coffee a month!) will allow you to become a Hope Hero and receive one of our Hope Hero tote bags, and provide a Hope Hero bag for a GFPD family. I hope you’ll consider joining me as a Hope Hero.

As a foundation, we truly have much to be grateful for this holiday season and we look ahead to the future with a great deal of HOPE. Thank you for partnering with us in 2019, and we look forward to 2020 with hope and anticipation.
