The GFPD Family-to-Family Communities (F2FC) group is for all parents of a child(ren) with a peroxisomal disorder to come together with other parents who “get it.” The group is guided by trained Facilitators and meets the 3rd Monday of each month at 8:30 pm ET.

We meet for 90 minutes via Zoom videoconference and cover a variety of topics chosen by the group and include facilitated conversation, open sharing, and occasionally smaller breakout groups too.

F2FC brings families together to connect, share information and resources, and offer support to one another. The GFPD F2FC Group is open to GFPD families within and outside of the US. Our first call for the 2022-2023 phase of GFPD F2FC will be on Monday, 9/19/2022 at 8:30 PM EST and will continue to meet monthly through May 2023.

Katie Sacra, Krista Olsen, and Jennifer Knox are looking forward to co-facilitating the 2022/2023 GFPD F2FC group together again this year. We are excited to continue to offer this unique way for families to connect!

If you would like to join our group, please register at the following link, and make sure to choose the group “Families with Members who have Peroxisomal Disorders”

If you have any questions email f2fc@thegfpd.org to contact one of the GFPD F2FC Facilitators.

These web-based, peer-to-peer meetings allow parents who have lost a child an opportunity to process their grief and learn coping strategies that have helped others. This group will meet virtually each month for 90 minutes. Meetings will begin in October 2022. We ask interested parents to commit to the entire series (10 total).

Enrollment is free. All participants will receive a care packet that includes items to support you during your participation, as well as descriptions of the topics that will be covered each month and suggested resources. The purpose of the group is to connect bereaved families, provide emotional support, death education, and normalization of the grief process in a shared, supportive community.

Extended family can register here and make sure to select the group “Extended Family Members.” If you have any questions about the Extended Family F2FC group, you can contact Jana Villemez at jvillemez@helenkeller.org or call her at 501-517-1474.

For any other questions or concern regarding the GFPD F2FC group, please contact a GFPD facilitator at f2fc@thegfpd.org or a GFPD team member at 843-796-8080.
