Melissa Bryce, Executive Director, to step down in September 2024

The Global Foundation for Peroxisomal Disorders (GFPD) announces that Melissa Bryce will step down as Executive Director in September 2024. Melissa will transition onto the Board of Directors and remain actively involved with the GFPD. The GFPD Board of Directors has established a search committee and has posted the position for applications.

Under Melissa’s leadership, the GFPD has grown to support over 700 families worldwide and has funded more than $1.4 million in medical and scientific research on peroxisomal disorders.

“Initially, when we formed the GFPD, my goal was to create an organization that would be of help to our family when my daughter, Ginny, was diagnosed,” explained Bryce. “It grew to be much more than I could ever have dreamed. I’m so proud of the support, resources, and empowerment we provide to families and patients like Ginny, and it has been the greatest honor of my life to serve the GFPD over the last fourteen years.”

The GFPD Board of Directors and the whole GFPD community would like to extend our profound gratitude to Melissa for her dedication to our GFPD patients and families over the past 14 years. We wish her well in her future endeavors and are grateful for her continued involvement with the GFPD.
